First responders surround massive crash on Lake Ave
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — One person has died after a police chase ended in a fiery car crash on Lake Avenue. Around 10:14 a.m. Friday, New York State Police tried stopping a vehicle in the area of Hudson Avenue, but the driver failed to comply, leading to a police chase. During the pursuit, troopers said the vehicle was heading south on Lake Avenue when spike strips disabled the vehicle. The suspect's car side-swiped another car before crashing into a Jeep filled with three people. The suspect's vehicle caught fire, and the driver was unable to get out of the car. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. The three occupants of the Jeep were hospitalized with minor injuries. NYSP is continuing to investigate the incident.
