Fiery car crash leaves woman, 24, in critical condition
HONOLULU (KHON2) -- A 24-year-old woman is in critical condition following a single-vehicle crash on Kunia Road during the early morning hours of April 28. According to the Honolulu Police Department, the woman was driving southbound on Kunia Road when she veered into the northbound lane and off the roadway into the brush at about 1:25 a.m. After leaving the road, police said the woman hit multiple boulders and a cattle gate. The vehicle then overturned multiple times in an open field. Officers arrived at the scene and were able to remove the woman from the vehicle, which then went up in flames. The woman was taken to a nearby hospital in serious condition, Honolulu Emergency Medical Services said. Her condition was later changed to critical.
