Fatality in Allentown police chase and crash; 2 troopers injured

A man passed away and two Pennsylvania State Police troopers were injured during a police chase early on Sunday morning in Allentown. The pursuit began when troopers tried to stop a 1999 Ford F-150 driven by a 27-year-old Allentown man who refused to pull over, leading to a chase. The truck eventually stopped near Lehigh Street and 29th Street, where the driver hit the troopers with his vehicle before fleeing the scene. The chase continued until the driver lost control, crashing into various obstacles. The driver was ejected from the truck and pronounced dead at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest, while the troopers were treated and released. Investigations are ongoing by the PSP Troop M Major Case Team, with additional agencies assisting, but further details have not yet been disclosed.
