Fatal wrong-way crash on Interstate 505 in Solano County
A tragic incident occurred on Wednesday evening in Solano County, where a collision involving a wrong-way driver resulted in a fatality on Interstate 505. The crash, which occurred around 6 p.m. near Allendale Road, approximately nine miles north of Vacaville, involved a gold Toyota Prius traveling in the wrong direction and colliding with a Subaru Forester heading south. Sadly, the driver of the Prius did not survive, while the Subaru driver sustained major injuries and was rushed to the hospital. As a result of the accident, all southbound lanes are closed at Allendale Road, with traffic being diverted at Putah Creek. Authorities have not provided an estimated time for when the highway will reopen.
