Fatal school bus crash injures 17 students near Ephraim
A tragic incident occurred when a pickup truck collided with two school buses near Ephraim, resulting in one fatality and injuring 18 others. The buses were part of Wasatch Academy, a boarding school in Mt. Pleasant. The accident, which took place on US-89, involved a southbound drifting pickup truck impacting two northbound buses carrying a total of 36 students and two drivers. The first bus was grazed, but the second bus was struck head-on, leading to the fatality of the truck driver. Following the crash, the students and bus driver from the second bus were taken to a nearby hospital, with two in critical condition. Authorities suspect fatigued driving as the reason for the collision. The city of Mt. Pleasant expressed their condolences to the affected community, offering thoughts of healing and support during this challenging time.
