Fatal rollover crash on Route 126 in Whitefield, Maine
A tragic incident occurred in Whitefield, where a young man lost his life in a fatal crash on Route 126. The victim was identified as 21-year-old Gavin P. Martin from Edgecomb. The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office reported that the accident took place early Tuesday morning when Martin's pickup truck veered off the road, hitting a utility pole and rolling over. Despite the truck's airbags deploying, Martin, who was not wearing a seat belt, did not survive the crash. Investigators believe that speed played a role in the incident. The authorities have closed off the road for three hours and are urging anyone who witnessed the accident to contact Deputy Jeffrey Rogers at 207-882-7332. This tragedy marks the second fatal crash in Whitefield within a week, following another deadly incident where a local resident lost his life after his car plunged upside down into a river.
