Fatal motorcycle-truck collision in Oconto County
OCONTO COUNTY (WLUK) -- A motorcyclist from Michigan is dead after a Sunday afternoon collision with a truck in Oconto County. The Oconto County Sheriff’s Office says emergency dispatchers received a call before 1:35 p.m. of a motorcycle-truck crash with injures. This was at the intersection of CTH S and Schwartz Road, in the Town of Chase. According to the preliminary investigation, a truck on Schwartz Road was proceeding into the intersection when it was struck on the passenger-side box area of the truck by an eastbound motorcycle traveling on County Highway S. The driver of the motorcycle was identified as a 39-year-old man from Escanaba, Michigan. Authorities say he died as a result of his injuries sustained in the crash. The diver of the truck, a 48-year-old man from Oconto Falls, was evaluated at the scene by medical personnel and released. A 25-year-old passenger was also evaluated and released. The crash remains under investigation by the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office, the Wisconsin State Patrol and the Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office. No additional information is being released at this time.
