Fatal motorcycle crash in Bedford following attempted police evasion
Bedford Police are currently investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that took place on Saturday afternoon after a attempted traffic stop. Authorities noted that officers saw a motorcycle breaking several traffic laws around 3:35 p.m. near Harwood Road and State Highway 121. When police tried to pull the motorcycle over, the rider fled towards the Bedford Linear Park walking trail. Concerned for the safety of pedestrians, officers halted the pursuit after the motorcycle entered the trail. Shortly after, a call came in about a motorcycle crash near the trail and Willow Bend. Responding officers confirmed it was the same motorcycle from the earlier incident. Despite receiving medical aid, the 35-year-old rider passed away at a local hospital. The Bedford Police Department is continuing their investigation, with no further details currently available.
