Fatal Illinois accident involving man trapped in soybeans in grain bin
A tragedy occurred in Illinois this week involving a grain bin accident, resulting in the death of one person. In a coordinated effort, the Hennepin and Granville fire departments responded to the incident at 2:18 p.m. on Monday in Putnam County. The rescue operation involved finding a man trapped in soybeans inside the bin, who had entered to search for another missing individual. Utilizing specialized equipment, emergency crews were able to free the trapped man and airlift him for medical attention. Unfortunately, the second man was found deceased inside the bin after hours of excavation efforts. The identities of the victims have not been released to the public.
