Fatal hit-and-run on Highway 99 in south Sacramento
Tragically, a fatal hit-and-run collision occurred on Highway 99 in south Sacramento early Friday morning, resulting in the death of one individual. The incident took place around 5 a.m. near Fruitridge Road on the southbound lanes of the freeway. According to California Highway Patrol, a pedestrian lost their life in the hit-and-run incident. Authorities have not provided information about the victim or the suspect involved in the crash. All lanes on the southbound side of Highway 99 were reopened shortly before 7 a.m.
