Fatal hit-and-run in Bradenton, motorcyclist arrested
A motorcyclist was taken into custody by authorities for allegedly fleeing the site of a fatal accident involving a pedestrian in Bradenton on Friday evening. The incident occurred at the intersection of Manatee Avenue and 21st Street East. The pedestrian, a man in his 80s, was struck first by a motorcycle and then by another vehicle as he crossed the road outside of a designated crosswalk. The victim tragically passed away at the scene. The motorcyclist, Javier Ochoa, 27, purportedly left initially but later contacted law enforcement. Ochoa has been arrested and charged with failing to stay at the scene of a collision resulting in death. Local police have been unable to locate the deceased's relatives at present.
