Fatal head-on crash in Caddo Parish; several critically injured
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — Caddo Parish police, along with Caddo Fire District 1, responded to a deadly crash, leaving one person dead and several others critically injured. Authorities say the crash happened on Louisiana Highway 1 near Roy Road and Scarpengo Road. Multiple agencies rushed to the scene, including eight units from Caddo Fire District 1 and 12 deputies with the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office. According to police at the scene, the crash involved two vehicles and appeared to be a head-on collision. Police say one individual was pronounced dead at the scene. Three other individuals suffered severe injuries and were transported to LSU Health for treatment with life-threatening injuries. Two victims were taken by ambulance, and one was airlifted by Life Air. The crash remains under investigation, and authorities say they will release more details as more information becomes available.
