Fatal head-on collision near Tornillo in East El Paso County
In El Paso, Texas, a tragic accident occurred near Tornillo on the afternoon of August 9 resulting in the loss of two lives. The El Paso County Sheriff's Office reported that the collision took place around 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of M.F. Aguilera and O.T. Smith when a Nissan Titan and a Mazda CX-5 collided head-on. Sadly, the driver of the Mazda was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Nissan and a passenger from the Mazda were hospitalized, with the Mazda passenger later succumbing to their injuries despite receiving medical treatment. Authorities are investigating the incident, including whether speed played a role, and inquiries are ongoing.
