Fatal head-on collision in east Columbus
A tragic incident occurred in East Columbus on Monday evening, resulting in the death of a woman and injuries to another individual after a collision. According to Columbus police, the accident took place when a vehicle exited a parking lot to head west on East 17th Avenue near Rarig Avenue. Meanwhile, another woman was driving a Ford in the westbound lanes of East 17th Ave. At a certain point, she veered left to avoid the first vehicle, crossing into the eastbound lanes where her car collided head-on with a Chevrolet. The Ford driver initially went to OSU East Hospital in stable condition but her condition worsened, and she was pronounced dead shortly after. The female driver of the Chevrolet was taken to OSU Wexner Medical Center and is currently in stable condition.
