Fatal crashes claim 2 lives in Albuquerque
Two fatal crashes occurred over the weekend in Albuquerque, according to a news release from the Albuquerque Police Department. In the first incident, a head-on collision took place at an intersection late Friday night, involving a black 2023 Ram pick-up truck and a white 2013 Ford pick-up truck. Despite warnings from other vehicles flashing their lights, the Ford truck collided with the Ram truck, resulting in the Ford driver's death at the scene. In another crash around 3 a.m. on Saturday, a woman driving a 2016 Mercedes GLC 300 was speeding on the Interstate 25 off-ramp to San Mateo Boulevard. She lost control, causing the vehicle to veer off the road and fatally ejecting her. Both accidents are being investigated by APD's fatal crash unit, and KOAT will provide updates as more information becomes available.
