Fatal crash with log truck in Madison County
A tragic accident occurred on January 12, 2026, in Madison County involving two vehicles. The collision took place on Highway 16 near Sharon Road around 6:00 p.m., resulting in the death of Jimmie Keathen, a 73-year-old from Pearl, who was driving a 2002 Ford F-250. The passenger of the Ford was airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) with unknown injuries. The other vehicle involved, a 2000 Volvo log truck, was attempting to turn onto the highway when the collision occurred. The driver of the log truck was unharmed, and the incident is currently under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP).
