Fatal crash under investigation in Appomattox County: VSP
Virginia State Police (VSP) said a fatal crash is under investigation in Appomattox County. VSP said they are investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash that occurred on Friday on Salem Road, approximately one-half mile south of Elliott Lane. The preliminary investigation indicates that a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling northbound on Salem Road when it ran off the roadway, hit an embankment, and overturned, according to VSP. VSP said the vehicle was being operated by a teen driver from Appomattox County. The driver died due to injuries at the scene and was not wearing a seat belt. The crash remains under investigation, VSP said.
