Fatal crash shuts down part of Highway 46
A stretch of westbound Highway 46 in northern San Luis Obispo County was closed after a fatal traffic accident, forcing drivers onto alternate routes and causing delays. A fatal accident on State Route 46 closed part of the highway, which happened about five miles east of State Route 1. Traffic was being diverted to State Route 41 through Morro Bay. Drivers trying to reach U.S. 101 from Highway 1 were advised to use State Route 41 in the Morro Bay area or travel south toward San Luis Obispo. This is an ongoing investigation.
