Fatal crash on U.S. 183 near airport caused by wrong-way driver
A tragic incident occurred near Austin-Bergstrom International Airport on Sunday morning when a driver going in the wrong direction caused a fatal crash involving multiple vehicles. The driver was arrested for intoxicated manslaughter. The northbound lanes of U.S. 183 were temporarily closed for investigation and cleanup, with traffic being diverted at the McCall Lane southbound turnaround. The road has now been reopened, and the identities of the deceased person and the arrested driver have not been disclosed by the police.
