Fatal crash on Taylors Store Road in Nash County ejects man from SUV, according to troopers

A man tragically lost his life in a solo car accident that took place late last night in Nash County, as announced by the North Carolina Department of Transportation. The collision occurred on Taylor Stores Road near Winterberry Lane at the border of Castalia and Nashville, prompting a response from State Highway Patrol around 11:45 p.m. Twenty-five-year-old Evan Michael Mills was declared deceased at the scene by first responders. According to the troopers' report, Mills was driving a 2014 GMC Acadia on Taylor Stores Road when the vehicle veered out of its lane, then over-corrected and veered off the road, ultimately hitting a tree, causing the SUV to overturn after going airborne. Mills was ejected from the vehicle as he was not wearing a seatbelt, as evidenced by the investigation. Fortunately, no other damages or injuries were reported, and Taylors Store Road was reopened by 2:30 a.m. on Friday following the incident.
