Fatal crash on Route 53 in Romeoville
In Romeoville, Illinois, a tragic collision resulted in the death of a woman on Friday afternoon. The incident occurred just before 3 p.m. on Illinois Route 53, north of Airport Road. The crash involved a silver Acura and a silver Chevrolet traveling southbound on Illinois Route 53. Following the impact, the Acura veered across northbound Illinois Route 53 and struck a tree off the road, leading to the passenger, identified as Donna West, being declared deceased at the scene. The driver of the Acura was transported to Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital, treated, and subsequently released. For investigation purposes, the roadway was closed for a significant duration but has now been reopened.
