Fatal Crash on I-75 in Sarasota Results in 2 Deaths: Driver Arrested for DUI Manslaughter

Two individuals tragically lost their lives in a collision on Interstate 75 in Sarasota on Sunday afternoon, with Fred Donalson from Ohio now facing a charge of DUI manslaughter. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash involved a Toyota Camry and a Nissan Pathfinder traveling north near mile marker 203. The incident occurred at approximately 3:39 p.m. when the Camry struck the Pathfinder, causing the SUV to veer off the road and collide with a tree. The driver of the Camry, identified as Fred Donalson, 41, was taken into custody at the scene and charged with DUI manslaughter. He is currently being held at Sarasota County Jail. The man and woman in the SUV were tragically pronounced dead at the crash site.
