Two grown-ups lost their lives in a car crash on Highway 50 near Kyburz over the weekend, while two youngsters were hospitalized due to the incident. The California Highway Patrol reported that a Chevrolet pickup veered off the highway's south side while traveling eastwards before 3:15 p.m. The crash resulted in the adults' fatalities and the children, aged 8 and 11, being airlifted to a hospital with potentially severe injuries. Authorities suspect the deceased adults were the kids' parents, but their identities remain undisclosed. The CHP mentioned that the driver appeared to be speeding recklessly, although there are no indications of driving under the influence yet. Traffic was minimally affected in the area, with one-way traffic operations in place as the investigation proceeds.
