Fatal crash involving motorcycle and van shuts down portion of highway in Bates County
The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash on a Butler, Missouri, highway Friday. Troopers responded to a Missouri Route 52 overpass at Interstate 49 around 11:50 a.m. on reports of the crash. The highway patrol says the crash involved a motorcycle and a van pulling a trailer. It's not clear at this time how many people were injured in the crash, but at least one person is dead. Missouri Route 52 over I-49 is closed while crews work the scene. Drivers are asked to avoid the area.
