Arrest made in fatal crash that killed cyclist in Guyton

GUYTON, Ga. (WSAV) — Effingham County Sheriff's Office (ECSO) has made an arrest in a fatal crash that killed a cyclist in Guyton in October 2025. Quinto White, 55, turned himself in to ECSO Friday in connection with the crash that killed 58-year-old Franklin Ross. The crash happened on Honey Ridge Road on October 20, 2025. Ross was riding a three-wheeled pedal cycle when he was struck from behind by a pickup truck allegedly driven by White. Ross later died from his injuries. The ECSO Traffic Unit investigated the collision. White has been charged with following too closely, improper passing of a cyclist and homicide by vehicle.
