Fatal crash involving log truck in Pitt County
In Pitt County, North Carolina, a tragic collision occurred on January 23rd at the junction of NC Highway 118 and Cannon Price Road. A log truck was headed west on NC 118 when a 2005 Toyota Camry driven by Cara Gardner, 23, from Greenville, NC, tried to make a left turn onto NC 118 from Cannon Price Road. Unfortunately, the Toyota did not give way, leading to a collision with the log truck. The impact caused the log truck to veer off the road, hitting a ditch and overturning. NC 118 was shut down for about three hours for an investigation and to clear logs from the area. Tragically, Ms. Gardner lost her life in the accident.
