Police investigate fatal moped crash in southeast Albuquerque
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) — Albuquerque police are investigating a fatal crash involving a moped. Police say the crash happened in the area of Zuni and San Pablo in southeast Albuquerque. According to investigators, the moped driver was going southbound on San Pablo, approaching the Zuni intersection. A sedan was traveling westbound on Zuni, approaching San Pablo. Police say the moped entered the intersection against a red light at a "high rate of speed." The sedan braked to try and avoid the crash, but was unsuccessful. The driver of the moped was ejected, then taken to the hospital where he died. The driver and passenger of the sedan were not injured.
