A tragic incident occurred in Wood County, W.Va., on New Year's Eve, resulting in a loss of life. The Wood County Sheriff's Office reported that a fatal crash took place at the intersection of Murphytown Road and the Robert Byrd Highway (U.S. Route 50) at 7:35 p.m. on Wednesday. Details reveal that a 2024 Lexus sedan, making a left turn from Murphytown Road onto Route 50, was struck by a 2020 Jeep Wrangler heading east. Tragically, the driver of the Lexus, identified as Ashley Perry, 42, from Parkersburg, succumbed to her injuries, as confirmed by the sheriff's office. It has been noted that no criminal charges are being pressed in connection with the incident.
