Fatal crash in western Franklin County leaves one dead and two ejected

A fatal two-vehicle collision in Franklin County occurred on the west side Tuesday night, leaving one person deceased and two others hospitalized in critical condition. The incident took place around 9:18 p.m. near the U.S. Route 40 and Darby Creek Drive intersection in Prairie Township. A white GMC Sierra attempted to turn onto Darby Creek Dr. from U.S. 40 when it was struck by a black Cadillac CTS, ejecting both occupants of the GMC. The driver of the GMC was tragically pronounced dead at the scene, while the passenger was initially in critical condition but has since stabilized. The Cadillac driver also remains hospitalized in critical condition. Authorities are investigating the crash and urge anyone with information to contact the sheriff's office Crash Investigation Unit.
