Fatal crash in northeast Indianapolis
A tragic incident occurred in Indianapolis on Friday night when a woman lost her life in a car crash on the northeast side of the city. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to the crash on East 42nd Street around 9:39 p.m. The vehicle had veered off the road, striking a tree and utility pole. The driver, described as an adult female, was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition but sadly succumbed to her injuries. IMPD's fatal crash team has taken over the investigation, with the Marion County Coroner's Office responsible for determining the cause of death.
