Fatal crash in Lorain County involving box truck: OSHP
A fatal crash took place in Lorain County, Ohio, on Thursday evening, prompting an investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The incident involved two vehicles on State Route 18 near Indian Hollow Road in Penfield Township. Reports state that a 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe traveling west on State Route 18 veered into the eastbound lane, colliding with a 2025 Freightliner box truck. Sadly, the SUV driver, whose identity was not disclosed in a media release, succumbed to their injuries. The box truck driver sustained minor injuries and received on-site treatment. State troopers closed State Route 18 between Indian Hollow Road and Foster Road, advising motorists to use alternate routes and anticipate delays. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
