Fatal crash in Happy Valley shuts down road, investigation underway
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A fatal crash in Happy Valley has shut down a road as an investigation continues, authorities said. The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office said deputies and firefighters assigned to the area responded to the crash just after 4 p.m. in the 10000 block of Southeast 172nd. The head-on crash involved a Jeep Wrangler and Honda Accord. The driver of the Jeep was transported by ambulance to a local hospital in critical condition. The driver of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said. Investigators are determining what led up to the crash. The identities of the drivers are not being released. SE 172nd Ave. remains closed between Southeast Huckleberry Street and Southeast Rhododendron Street as the investigation continues. People are asked to use alternative routes.
