Fatal crash in El Dorado County leaves one dead, three injured
(FOX40.COM) — A person was killed and three others injured after a car crashed into a river Tuesday afternoon in El Dorado County, the California Highway Patrol said. CHP was dispatched around 4 p.m. after receiving reports of a car crashing into the American River along eastbound Highway 50 just east of Ice House Road. Upon arrival, officers found an Hyundai SUV in the river but accessible from the shore. An adult in the front passenger seat was pronounced dead at the scene, CHP said. The adult driver and two juvenile passengers seated in the back sustained serious injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The cause of the crash and the identities of those involved have not been released to the public at this time.
