Fatal crash in Box Elder County caused by 22-year-old driving without lights

A 22-year-old man tragically lost his life in a Box Elder County crash, attributed to witnesses noting he was driving at a high speed without headlights on. The identity of the victim has not been disclosed. The incident occurred around 1:58 a.m. on Thursday, when a caller reported a white Hyundai Elantra traveling without lights on I-15. Shortly after, the same witness encountered the Elantra crashed just north of mile marker 360. Authorities revealed that the driver of the Elantra, a 22-year-old male, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators suspect that the Elantra collided with another vehicle in the right lane of the interstate, which failed to stop after the accident. In a separate development, a semi driver contacted troopers in Ogden to report a crash a few hours later. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
