Fatal crash in Belle Glade leaves one dead and another seriously injured
A man was killed and another driver was seriously injured in a crash Thursday evening on U.S. Highway 27 South, according to a report from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.Stay up to date: The latest headlines and weather from WPBF 25Deputies say the crash happened around 6:43 p.m. near the 14000 block of U.S. 27 South. Investigators report that a 2020 Hyundai Elantra driven by Julius Brown Jr., 52, was heading southbound when it struck the rear of another vehicle traveling in the same lane. Brown was pronounced dead at the scene.The driver of the second vehicle, Carrine Cole, 41, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Delray Medical Center. A semitruck driven by Osmany Alvarez-Pino, also traveling in the area, was involved, but the driver was not injured.According to investigators, Brown’s vehicle rotated and came to rest on the left shoulder, while the second vehicle stopped on the right shoulder south of the crash site.
