Fatal collision on State Road 81 in Holmes County
HOLMES COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) - A Holmes County man is dead after a vehicle collision that took place on Wednesday afternoon. The incident occurred on State Road 81 around 3:30. According to the incident report, a driver in a pickup truck was traveling south behind a semi truck and reportedly failed to yield to the truck's speed. The pickup truck's front bumper collided with the rear end of the semi truck, and both vehicles began to exit the west shoulder. However, the semi truck began to overturn, causing the 76-year-old driver to become unseated and stuck underneath. The 76-year-old's injuries were fatal, and the driver in the pickup truck sustained minor injuries. We will continue to provide updates as they become available.
