Fatal collision on I-95 takes the life of 25-year-old Richmond pedestrian on Christmas.
A tragic pedestrian collision on Christmas night resulted in the death of a 25-year-old man from Richmond on Interstate 95, leading Virginia State Police (VSP) to launch an inquiry. VSP released a statement on Friday, Dec. 26, indicating an investigation into the fatal incident that took place on Dec. 25 around 9 p.m. on I-95 northbound, close to its junction with I-64 east and N. 7th Street. The victim, identified as Cornell West, was struck by a tow truck while in the northbound lane and was pronounced dead upon arrival at a nearby hospital. The tow truck driver remained at the scene and has been cooperative with the investigation. VSP continues to examine the details surrounding the crash.
