Fatal collision on I-80 in Fairfield results in 3 fatalities
A tragic incident occurred in Fairfield early Sunday morning when a white Dodge Charger and a black Land Rover Discovery collided on westbound Interstate 80, resulting in the deaths of three individuals. The California Highway Patrol reported that two men were in the Charger, while a woman was the sole occupant of the Land Rover. An initial assessment indicates that it was a wrong-way crash, but the exact driver at fault remains uncertain. A witness mentioned seeing a "light-colored sedan" going in the wrong direction. Following this fatal collision, a separate crash involved a black Tesla Model Y and a red Toyota Tacoma in the same area. The Tesla driver emerged unharmed, while the Tacoma driver sustained what is believed to be minor injuries. Investigators are exploring the possibility of drugs or alcohol contributing to the initial crash but have ruled out impairment in the subsequent incident. As of now, authorities have not disclosed the identities of those involved in the tragic crash.
