Fatal collision on I-385 in Laurens Co.
A tragic incident occurred Thursday night on I-385 southbound near Laurens, resulting in the loss of two drivers' lives in a head-on collision. The accident took place around 10:15 p.m. at mile marker 9, involving a 2024 Subaru and a 2005 Nissan, each with one driver who passed away at the scene. According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the Nissan was heading north in the southbound lane and crashed into the southbound Subaru. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances that led to the Nissan traveling in the wrong direction. The Laurens County Coroner's Office has not disclosed the victims' identities, and the SCHP is continuing to investigate the crash.
