Fatal collision near Goleta costs one life
The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal accident that occurred early on Thursday morning near Goleta. The incident occurred around 3:15 a.m. on southbound Highway 101 just south of Dos Pueblos Canyon Road. According to the CHP, a white Lexus SUV was heading south when the driver lost control, hitting a sign, flipping over, and colliding with a large eucalyptus tree. Despite efforts to revive the driver, he was declared deceased at the scene. The cause of the accident is still under investigation, and witnesses are urged to contact CHP investigators at (805) 770-4800.
