Fatal collision in San Benito County
The California Highway Patrol Hollister-Gilroy has confirmed a fatal two-vehicle collision that took place on Friday morning. The incident occurred at the roundabout on Highway 156 and Bixby Road around 7:12 a.m. According to an initial report by CHP, a Dodge coupe and a Honda sedan collided within the roundabout on State Route 156 at Bixby Road. Sadly, one driver sustained minor injuries while the other driver, a 36-year-old man from Salinas, was fatally injured. CHP noted that the deceased individual was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. CHP Hollister-Gilroy Area Commander, Captain Noel Coady emphasized the importance of wearing a seatbelt for safety and expressed condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
