Fatal chase in South Houston: Woman dies after leg amputation in crash

A tragic incident occurred in Houston's South Side area where a woman lost her life following a pursuit and crash involving a man, as reported by the authorities. The Houston Police Department responded to a serious accident on Corder Street near Highway 288, where they found a woman who had been hit by a vehicle and had her leg amputated. Despite the officers' efforts to provide immediate assistance by applying a tourniquet, the woman, unfortunately, did not survive after being rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency surgery. The altercation between the woman and the man began at an apartment complex near Highway 288, culminating in a dangerous chase down Corder Street. The man lost control of his vehicle, leading to a collision that resulted in the woman being trapped between the two vehicles, resulting in the loss of one leg and severe injury to the other. Tragically, a 12-year-old, not related to the woman, was also present in her car at the time of the accident. Further investigations by the District Attorney's Office are underway to determine the possible charges to be pressed against the man, who displayed signs of intoxication and was driving recklessly at a high speed during the incident.
