Fatal car crash reported in Franklin County
FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) - Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred Wednesday, Feb. 18 at 1:20 p.m. on Booker T. Washington Highway in Franklin County. Law enforcement says a 2006 Chevrolet C4 was driving north on Booker T. Washington Highway when it ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected, crossed the road into an embankment rolling over. The passenger of the car was ejected. Authorities say they identified the passenger as Marcus Dillard Keen, 21, of New Castle, Va. Police report he was not wearing his seatbelt and died at the scene. The driver was wearing his seatbelt and survived after minor injuries.
