Fatal car crash in Upstate results in one death, according to coroner
A fatal incident occurred in Pickens County, South Carolina as emergency responders found a deceased individual inside a vehicle following a fiery crash. The Pickens County Coroner's Office was alerted to the single-car accident that took place on West Queen Street in Pendleton at 12:15 a.m. on Thursday. The vehicle was engulfed in flames and the person inside was discovered as the fire was extinguished. The Coroner expressed that identifying the individual may only be possible post-autopsy due to the condition of the body. The South Carolina Highway Patrol could not determine the type of vehicle due to the extent of the fire damage. The vehicle reportedly veered off the road, descended an embankment, struck a tree, and then caught fire.
