Fatal car accident in Ulster County
A fatal car accident occurred in Marlboro, NY, with one person dying as a result, as reported by New York State Police. The crash took place at the intersection of State Route 9W and Mahoney Road. It was determined that a Honda traveling north on State Route 9W veered off the lane, hitting a snowbank. The driver reportedly tried to correct the course and re-enter the lane, crossing into the southbound lane and colliding head-on with a Kia. The driver of the Honda, 25-year-old Isaiah Towne from Montgomery, was extracted from the vehicle but tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries. The sole occupant of the Kia was transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Medical Center with serious injuries and is currently in stable condition.
