Fatal accident on Thruway in Ulster County
A man from Kingston has tragically lost his life in a two-car collision on the Thruway in Esopus, as reported by the New York State Police. The incident occurred near milepost marker 80.7 on Monday morning. Authorities are currently conducting an investigation into the crash. Initial findings suggest that a Mercedes-Benz traveling northbound struck a stationary Freightliner construction vehicle in the left lane. The Freightliner was situated partially in the left lane and left shoulder as part of a construction project, with other construction vehicles in place to redirect traffic. The driver of the Mercedes-Benz, identified as David Moyal, aged 60, was fatally injured and pronounced dead at Kingston Health Alliance Hospital.
