Fatal accident on Rt. 481 in Carroll Township
A fatal crash occurred in Washington County overnight, resulting in one casualty. The incident took place around 3 a.m. on Rt. 481 in Carroll Township. The driver, identified as Matthew Roth, 21, from Blairsville, lost control of the vehicle and collided with a bridge barrier at the intersection of Rt. 481 and Rt. 2023, causing the vehicle to catch fire. The crash was discovered by a passing motorist who alerted the authorities. Roth was pronounced dead at the scene by the Washington County Coroner's Office. The Carroll Township Police Department is currently investigating the accident.
