Fatal accident in the early morning in Huntington Beach
A 71-year-old man from Huntington Beach tragically lost his life after being hit by a pickup truck in a residential area just north of Brannen Drive according to Huntington Beach Police Department officials. The incident occurred early Monday morning at the intersection of Springdale Street and Brannen Drive, where the man was found unconscious on the road. Despite efforts by paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the white Ford F-250 truck, a 37-year-old Huntington Beach resident, was unharmed and cooperated with authorities. The preliminary investigation suggests the truck was traveling north on Springdale Street when the collision happened. Police indicated that impairment does not seem to be a factor for the driver, and it is uncertain if it played a role for the pedestrian. The case is being looked into by the Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team, specializing in complex and fatal traffic incidents.
