Fatal 4-car collision on I-664 in Newport News
According to Virginia State Police, a fatal collision involving multiple vehicles, including a tractor-trailer, occurred on Interstate 664 northbound in Newport News, leading to the death of one individual and causing injuries to another person on Friday afternoon. The injured individual was transported to a local hospital for treatment while all lanes on northbound I-664 were closed due to the crash near Exit 4. The Virginia Department of Transportation indicated that the incident took place close to mile marker 3.7 near Roanoke Avenue, causing significant traffic congestion of about four miles. A detour has been set up at Roanoke Avenue, and authorities are currently investigating the crash.
