Family of three dies in Ohio car collision
A tragic accident in Hamilton, Ohio claimed the lives of a mother, father and their young son over the weekend. The collision, involving three vehicles on River Road and Hooven Avenue, resulted in the deaths of Milton Alvarez Lagos, Betty Salazar Lopez, and their 10-year-old son, Milton Salazar Alvarez. According to CBS affiliate WKRC, the crash occurred when a Pontiac Torrent veered across the center line to pass another vehicle, striking a Honda Civic carrying the family. The Honda then collided with a garage and fence, instantly killing the family members inside. The driver of the Pontiac sustained serious injuries, while the driver of a Ford pickup involved was unharmed. The tragedy occurred in an area with a speed limit of 35 mph, but investigators revealed that the Pontiac was traveling at more than double that speed at the time of impact. The community mourns the loss of young Milton, a fifth grader at Ridgeway Elementary, who is remembered as a friendly and bright student. The Hamilton City School District is providing support to students and staff during this difficult time, and an outpouring of condolences has been extended to the family and school community.
